Q98.5 is proud to welcome home Mo Pitney from Nashville on Saturday, November 29 at 7 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Hall in Rockford. Some powerful song writers will be joining myself and Mo for a great night. Here are some of the hit songs these writers have written.

Mo Pitney is an up and coming Curb Records recording artist & a Rockford/Cherry Valley native. He blew the audience away at his debut performance at the Grand Ole Opry earlier this year, receiving a standing ovation on his song “Clean Up on Aisle 5″ (co-written by Wil Nance). This was the first standing ovation for a debut performance since Josh Turner’s “Long Black Train” moment 13 years ago.

In September, he performed on the Opry stage again, where he was asked to do an unprecedented 3rd song that night! He’s currently on a national radio tour, highlighting his song “Country” (that he co-wrote with Bobby Tomberlin & “Whispering Bill” Anderson).

More importantly to us than his recent career success, is the fact that Mo is Sydney’s cousin. He has a heart to help honor her memory, and to help support other children who are facing a life-threatening illness.

This year, Mo is bringing up some song writer friends from Nashville. His friends Wil Nance & Bobby Tomberlin, will be joining him for an intimate songwriter’s night of music!

Wil Nance is best known for his #1 song “She’s Everything” recorded by Brad Paisley on his multi platinum CMA 2007 Album of the Year “Time Well Wasted”. He also has written songs recorded by George Straight, Joe Nichols and others.

Bobby Tomberlin is a CMA, AMC & Grammy nominee. He co-wrote “One More Day” made popular by Diamond Rio. He’s also had songs recorded by Faith Hill, Josh Tuner, Willie Nelson & more.

You can purchase your tickets online at sydneyives.com or at Infinitely Sweet at Edgebrook in Rockford.

Hope to see you there at this one of a kind fund raiser. It's sure to be entertaining for a great cause in the battle against Cancer.
