Rockford Has A New Celebrity Ambassador

Rockford's own basketball star, Fred Vanvleet, is now an ambassador of his hometown. Check out what his new role is all about.

It's no secret, Rockford has as many sporting events as it does used car lots and strip malls. With all the tournaments in town we have Fred Vanvleet to serve and our Sports Tourism Ambassador.

“Bringing Fred VanVleet on board as an ambassador for Rockford and the region was a no brainer,” said John Groh, RACVB president/CEO. “Fred’s work ethic and drive for success is mirrored by the work ethic and drive for success that our entire community possesses.”

Your next chance to hang out with Fred Vanvleet will be on Sunday, February 19th at District Downtown during the NBA All-Star game watch party. According to GoRockford.com,

The event will be a fundraising party for local youth basketball club teams and to help bring additional sports tournaments to Rockford. Details and ticket information will be announced soon.
