A lot of bad things have been happening lately regarding Uber drivers, but none right here in the streets of Rockford. Until now, that is.

According to WIFR, Rockford Police are reporting that a 61-year-old Uber driver was held up at gunpoint while waiting for a fare in the area of 16th Avenue and 7th Street at about 1:20 a.m. on Thursday morning.

No arrests have been made, but the suspect took off by foot after stealing an undisclosed amount of money from the driver. They were last seen around 6th Street and 16th Avenue this morning.  It is unknown at this time if the robber was the one who actually called in the Uber request.
