Beautiful Roll Cloud Over Rockford on Monday [Watch]

It was a very busy day in the weather department on Monday with severe weather and tornadoes south of Rockford and the stateline area. Rockford was mostly spared, but it was not without a bit of excitement in the sky.

Check out this video posted by Meteorologist and storm chaser Reed Timmer. He describes this cloud formation filmed over Rockford on Monday afternoon as a "roll cloud" in a stable atmosphere. Note the wave features along the top.
