The 3001 North Perryville Starbucks is looking to add wine and craft beers to its menu.

The Rockford Register Star is reporting that an official request for a license was approved by Rockford's Liquor and Advisory Board 's Codes and Regulation Committee meeting earlier this week and will go before the Rockford City Council for approval on Feb. 1.

The plan is for Starbucks to bring what is referred to as its "evenings" format to the Perryville store. The goal is to wanted increase business after 4 p.m. Starbucks presently has nearly 75 "evenings" stores in the U.S. Several are already located in the Chicago area.

There are no plans to convert all Starbucks stores to the new format.

Just select stores "in the right neighborhoods" that also fit design and space requirements.

The North Perryville store in northeast Rockford is in a shopping district that includes Gander Mountain and Woodman's. The store has been open for almost a decade and was remodeled recently with a more open, industrial look with exposed air ducts and fluorescent spot lighting.

Hmmmm, may I have a glass of wine with my frappuccino?
