More and more people are visiting downtown Rockford by the thousands. This year was no different as crowds almost reached 100,000 in one day.

Stroll On State attracts thousands of people each year, and the number keeps increasing. 2016 was another recording breaking year for the downtown holiday event, drawing 75,000.

You might be wondering how this number can be determined and there is an answer. According to a Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau press release,

Aerial photography, feedback from crowd spotters, shuttle bus ridership and sales/participation numbers for local businesses and attractions throughout the duration of the event help determine the number.

Stroll On State also covers more ground than just the State Street bridge.

The event spans more than 15 blocks in downtown Rockford, showcasing locally owned retail shops and eateries.

98% of attendees had positive experience at Stroll On State, according to a post-event survey.

The holidays lights and magic is not over yet, there is plenty more to experience in downtown Rockford.
