As of January Ilinois will have a new governor.

Illinois Governor-elect J.B. Pritzker has announced today that Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara will be a part of his transition team.

As a part of the Budget & Innovation Team, McNamara will help with trying to tackle the financial issues that Illinois faces. Along with developing ways to improve the Illinois business climate and stimulate the economy.

I’m honored to join Governor-Elect Pritzker’s transition team,” said Mayor McNamara. “He has a vision for increasing our access to capital, developing our workforce and providing mentorship and opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs. That vision echoes what we need in Rockford and northern Illinois and I’m looking forward to working with the Governor-elect and his team.”

Mayor McNamara will be a part of a 17-member Budget & Innovation Committee chaired by former Illinois Comptroller Dan Hayes.
