Finally, Rockford has found itself on a good list for once! The Stateline is number six on the new list of the fastest growing housing markets in America. 

According to USA TODAY;

To identify the 25 fastest growing (and 25 fastest shrinking) housing markets, 24/7 Wall St. reviewed the largest and smallest home price changes over the 12 months through the second quarter of this year.

Here are the results from the study, and the best part? Two Illinois cities actually made the top 10! Way to go, Illinois!

  1. Boulder, Colorado - Median sale price increase: 18.5%
  2. Elmira, New York - Median sale price increase: 17.6%
  3. Springfield, Illinois - Median sale price increase: 17.1%
  4. Port St. Lucie, Florida - Median sale price increase: 16.1%
  5. Cumberland, Maryland-West Virginia - Median sale price increase: 15.2%
  6. Rockford, Illinois - Median sale price increase: 15.1%
  7. Daytona Beach, Florida - Median sale price increase: 14.7%
  8. Tampa, Florida - Median sale price increase: 14.2%
  9. Toledo, Ohio - Median sale price increase: 13.9%
  10. Norwich-New London, Connecticut - Median sale price increase: 13.8%
