One of my favorite summer activities is to check out local farmer's markets. I love the huge array of fresh produce that you can touch, pinch and purchase from Stateline area farmers!

Today you can check the Rockford City Market for all your veggie needs.

Lettuce, spinach, zucchini, and more call all be found. Corn, my favorite, coming soon! You will also find local produce growers and vendors. In addition to veggies and fruits, you'll find meat and cheeses along with flowers, herbs, baked goods, and wine.

Local performers also on hand, weather permitting. Today July 18th, music from the Firelight Dimmers (4-7:30 p.m.)

Rockford City Market is open every Friday in the summer through Oct. 17th. It's located on Water Street between State and Jefferson streets in downtown Rockford.

Hours: 3 to 8 p.m. up until Labor Day
3 to 7 p.m. after Labor Day.

Rockford City Market made possible by the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, Rock River Development Partnership, and the City of Rockford.
