Rockford Community Steps Up to Help Build New Playground
My family and I are proud members of the YMCA, and you can often find us swimming in the pool or watching our kids have a blast on the indoor playground at the Northeast Family Branch on Orth Road in Loves Park. Now we have another reason to love the YMCA, and we have several awesome Rockfordians to thank for it.
This past weekend, a group of volunteers joined YMCA staff and other businesses in Rockford to help build 2 new community playgrounds at the Y’s Northeast Family Branch. Guess what? They got it done ahead of schedule, and it is awesome!
You know what’s even cooler about those 2 new playgrounds? They may be located on the YMCA campus, but they are available for the public to use. There are no fences surrounding them, so everyone has access to the fun!
I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking today looks like a good day to take the kids and break them in. Hopefully I’ll see ya there!
