When a love one is struggling, the first thing you want to do is try to help. In Rockford, that just happened for a 1 year old boy.

WTVO reported that a benefit was held for a one year old boy named Kendrick. He lives in Phoenix, Arizona and is fighting for his life.

When Kendrick was three and a half months old, doctors found a tumor that was wrapped around his spine. They performed two surgeries on him and the tumor has not got smaller. In fact, is has increased in size.

On Saturday night, a benefit was held for the baby, which included face painting, raffles, a silent auction and a zumba-thon. All of the money raised for the benefit will help go towards Kendrick's medical expenses.

"They live in Arizona, so they have to drive an hour to the Phoenix hospital for him to have treatment, like three times a week,” said Kendrick’s Aunt Akemi Taylor. “So this is helping them to be able to pay for that, pay for their bills, pay for their food, anything, you know, we can help them out with."

The family has set up a Go Fund Me page for Kendrick. You can go to it here.
