Last week Winnebago County Sheriff Gary Caruana announced the suspension of the county's NYE Ride Home program due to budget cuts, but thanks to LaMonica Beverages it's back on.

The support of LaMonica Beverages shows a strong commitment to the community and will aid the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department in its effort to keep the public safe.

LaMonica's donation of $2,500 will allow six Sheriff's Deputies and one telecommunicator to be on staff for this specific program. Safe Ride Program will be available 10 p.m. New Years Eve through 5 a.m. New Years morning. Anyone needing a ride home during that time period must call (815) 639-4674.

The Winnebago County Sheriff's Department New Years Eve Ride Home Program has been happening annually for more than 30 years.
