Rock River Valley Blood Center Announces ‘Cheddar Fries Thursdays’

The Rock River Valley Blood Center knows Stateline residents will do just about anything to get their hands on some delicious Beef-A-Roo cheddar fries, so they're giving them away for free on Thursdays for donating blood.

Starting this Thursday, through November 17, 2016, anyone who donates a pint of blood at the Rock River Valley Blood Center or at a blood drive on Thursdays will receive a coupon for a free regular size Beef-A-Roo cheddar fry good through the end of the year.

The Rock River Valley Blood Center provides blood to all of our local hospitals in Northern Illinois, and the need is always very high. According to their website, 1 out of 7 hospital patients require blood, and just one pint of blood can save up to 3 lives.

In fact, there's a "blood meter" on the home page of the website which lists the number of units of each blood type that is needed for each day, and the numbers required are quite mind boggling.
