Looking for something fun and unique this weekend. Check out the city of Rochelle's first ever Hay Day this Saturday.

Of course the center of the fun day will be the hay and straw Statue of Liberty sculpture that started it all from local artist Fran Volz.

According to EnjoyRochelle.com there will be plenty of fall festival fun on Saturday starting at 10am and running until 6pm along Lincoln Highway (Route 38) and in parts of the downtown area of Rochelle.

There will be food, music, entertainment, including former American Idol contestant Tristan Bushman, a pumpkin decorating contest, petting zoo, giant inflatibles and more fun for the kids.

And of course the reason for this whole new festival is the hay and straw sculpture contest that the schools and local businesses got involved in.

Here's a few pictures of the creativity that's been made from straw.

Those are pretty neat and that's just a few hay bale sculptures.

Rochelle's only about 30 minutes from Rockford why not check out something fun and different this coming weekend.
