RMTD Introduces a New App Shorten Wait Times for Bus Riders [Video]

Rockford Mass Transit District (RMTD) is introducing a new app to let riders know when the bus is coming.If you can't standing waiting out in the cold, rain and snow, check out the new app called RouteShout. It is free to download for your smart phone or to access on your computer through the RMTD website.

The app utilizes GPS technology to let riders know when they can expect the bus to arrive, so that wait times can be reduced.

WIFR-TV reports that after you download the app:

Passengers select the transit system they are interested in and then can choose the routes. From there, passengers find their location on that route and hit enter. Real time information on when the next buses will appear within the next hour are shown in the app.
