A sad turn of events for Toby Keith's restaurant business: "I Love This Bar and Grill".

The Daily Herald is reporting that on Thursday, the Rosemont restaurant and bar closed its doors for good Thursday afternoon. Management of the facility accused workers of stealing autographed memorabilia and liquor once they heard thee news of the the bar's imminent closure.

On Wednesday afternoon a report surfaced in the The Daily Herald that the village of Rosemont had plans to replace the bar with another restaurant business.

The Daily Herald says that according to Toby Keith's Rosemont General Manager Larry Vanni, once the story was picked up by the staff of the bar, he scheduled a meeting with his staff.

"We begged them to be professional so we could all get through this," Vanni said. "Some of them took it to the extreme, and they trashed us. A few bad eggs ruined it for everybody."

Vanni tells the Daily Herald that he believes six or seven staff members who were working Wednesday night stole items from the bar including the bar's alcohol and memorabilia autographed by Toby Keith

He said the kitchen staff walked out, some employees harassed customers, and others "got intoxicated and stupid."

The bar owes back taxes

Boomtown Entertainment, based in Phoenix, owes $311,595 in Cook County real estate taxes for 2014, including late fees, and $125,000 in October rent to the village, officials say.
