Flatheads rejoice! Rascal Flatts has announced plans to open a restaurant just 45 minutes away from Rockford.

Oh, how far they've come, from the mid-1990's when I saw Rascal Flatts perform live in downtown Rockford at Davis Park at a biker show/concert, to restaurant moguls.

The Daily Herald is reporting that the Rascal Flatts restaurant would would feature food and music (of course). What kind of food? According restaurant co-owner Chris Burka, in a presentation he made before the South Barrington Village Board, the food served would consist of Italian cuisine with Southern fusion.

What about music? Of course, country artists would perform, along with Christian music acts. Up to eight national acts would be booked at the restaurant each year.

The Rascal Flatts Restaurant would be located at Higgins Road and Route 59.

We hope this restaurant does not suffer the same fate as Country star Toby Keith who opened up a chain of Toby Keith's "I Love This Bar and Grill" that eventually closed due to financial problems.

The opening date has not been announced and there is no word if Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney will make appearances.

I wonder if the food will be served with 'flatware'? Sorry, I couldn't resist!
