Q98.5 Pet of the Week; Axel

October is National Adopt A Dog Month, and Winnebago County Animal Services is celebrating by waiving the adoptions fees for two special groups of dogs waiting for their forever homes at the shelter.

At Winnebago County Animal Services, dogs in the "Lonely Hearts Club" and the "Golden Whiskers" group are getting extra, special attention this month. These are dogs that have that been at the shelter the longest or are over the age of 6 who really deserve to find their happily ever after.

Sadly the dogs in this group are typically overlooked by potential adopters due to their age, or sometimes because of their breed. Today's Pet of the Week, Axel, is a member of the Lonely Hearts Club, and upon meeting him I cannot figure out why he has not been scooped up by a loving family yet.

He is sweet, cute and loving. Isn't that what we all want in a dog?

Please do yourself a favor and go to Winnebago County Animal Services to meet Axel, or one of his other deserving furry friends, today. They will warm your heart and fill your home with love.  What could be better than that?
