The Commander in chief singing Country music? kinda, sorta....you decide.

Last week, President Obama and the first lady Michelle, participated in a PBS Series "In Performance At The White House", a salute to the troops.
The artist line-up included:

  • Willie Nelson
  • Mary J. Blige
  • John Fogerty
  • Rapper Common
  • Latin pop star Romeo Santos

The performances took place live on the south lawn of the White House.

According to Rolling Stone magazine President Obama noted that the mix of genres was fitting, "because here in America, no matter where you're from, no matter what music you listen to, we're all united in our respect and admiration for our brave men and women who wear our country's uniform."

In the video, all of the artists, along with Mr. and Mrs. Obama, joined Nelson's encore performance of his classic "On the Road Again."  Willie Nelson asked the President to sing along. As you can see he knew at least the Chorus. How do you think he did?

Is the President ready for a career in country music? Perhaps he might be inspired after spending an hour aboard Willie's tour bus!
