Police presence will increase during Thanksgiving holiday in Boone County in some high traffic areas and at select "dangerous" intersections.

According to WIFR, Boone County Sheriff's Department will take advantage of a grant called Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program (or S.T.E.P.) and use the funds to bring off-duty officers out to the streets to specifically look for DUI and seat belt violations.

The increasing patrolling will happen until November 28th.
