"Hey Officer, can I get a lift?"  Deputies rushed to a residential neighborhood because of reports about a loose pit bull, but what happened next will warm your heart.

On Tuesday deputies in Lee County Florida responded to a call about a loose dog. But in the end they ended up with a furry friend.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office posted these photos of the dog, which was spotted roaming around a Ft. Myers-area neighborhood.

WLS-TV reports that the dog was returned home to it's owners without any incident by police. According to police, the was returned to his "loving home" after playing with officers.
