Police Memorial Weekend
When you walk into the CherryVale Mall this weekend, you will see plenty of Police vehicles and K-9 Units. Don't be alarmed, it's all apart of Police Memorial Week. Details on what you can experience are here.
Northern Illinois Police Memorial Week is underway throughout Winnebago, Boone, Ogle, DeKalb, Stephenson, and McHenry Counties. The week occurs every year to salute fallen Police Officers, remember their sacrifice, bond with the community and educate our families on local law enforcement agencies.
There is a multi-denominational service at 7 p.m. Thursday night at United Methodist Church 215 North Court Street to pay respect, pray and remember fallen heroes from our local Police forces.
Displays from 21 Police agencies will be on display at the CherryVale Mall this Friday through Sunday and is free to the public. There will be K-9 demos, bomb squad robot demonstrations, child fingerprinting, and more. With the threat of rain all weekend, this free educational event will be a 'must do' on your weekend list.
The complete list of times and details is here thanks to the CherryVale Mall.
More importantly, there will be a Memorial Wall honoring fallen Police Officers from our counties at Center Court of the CherryVale Mall.
Thank you to all of our men and women in uniform for your sacrifice and for putting your life on the line for our safety.
See you at CherryVale Mall this weekend.
