Some things are too good to be true, but that headline isn't one of them. A Peoria man was arrested and charged with multiple crimes, and it was all because of the looming zombie apocalypse.

According to Peoria's Journal Star, Justin Deemie rammed his SUV (which was stolen), then somehow managed to board an empty plane and, last but not least, tried to steal a deputy's squad car. All of this done with valid reasoning - in his own mind. He was "worried about an impending zombie apocalypse." Oh, he also was under the influence of drugs. So there's that.

Deemie's charges could get him up to 30 years in prison. The charges, according to PJS, include:

  • Home invasion
  • Residential burglary
  • Possession of a stolen motor vehicle
  • Criminal damage to government-supported property

With a $500,000 bond, Justin is looking at several free hot meals and a place to sleep for quite awhile. Don't forget, he's innocent until proven guilty... or a zombie apocalypse occurs.
