If April 9th's EF-4 tornado taught us one thing it is volunteerism.

That's why Ogle County is encouraging more people to become volunteers, especially for times just like that.

According to this WREX news report, Ogle County will be holding a meeting at the end of the month for anyone over the age of 18 that's interested in serving as a volunteer. The meeting will cover areas of volunteering for emergencies and response.

Those who choose to be a part of the Ogle County Volunteer Corps will be trained in how and where to access resources during disaster situations.

The meeting is on Tuesday, June 30th at 105 South 5th Street in Oregon from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on the third floor of the Ogle County Courthouse.
