Student who resides in Northern Illinois, in is under investigation for what school officials say was a "racially charged" comment she posted to one of her social media accounts.

According to a report in the Northwest Herald, the comment was posted to the Crystal Lake Central's student Instagram account.

Central High School Principal Eric Ernd sent a letter to Central high School parents informing them that the school "will take necessary" action. Ernd also called the comments "disappointing."

The student who made the social post asked “why the whole entire population of Mexico” attends her school?  The unnamed individual also said

Some don’t even speak English ... like our school sends busses to other towns soooo far away to pick them up and bring them to our school but people being bullied can’t transfer schools even if they can transport themselves.

School officials have not released the identity of the individual who posted these comments. Debate among those who saw the comment continues on social media.

The text of the post can be seen in it's entirety HERE.

(NOTE: Trisha Rueff is NOT the individual who made the comment that officials are investigating, but she obtained a screen capture of the image and posted it as a photo comment for the public, in the interest discussion on the Facebook page of the Northwest Herald)
