Now you can buy Your Clothes by the Pound in Rockford

When you buy your rutabagas, broccoli, and honey crisp apples, you pay by the pound, now you can buy your clothes by the pound in Rockford and help out a great cause at the same time.

Rockford now has a Goodwill Outlet Store where you can buy donated clothes by the pound. The store is located at 740 W. Riverside Blvd opened last Thursday in the North Towne Mall.

It's being referred to as "last-chance" store, where clothing items can be purchased for as low as 99 cents a pound.

Granted, these items did not sell at the other area Goodwill Stores, so your selection might not feature the trendiest designers, but at 99 cent a pound, you can extend your wash cycle by a day a two.

Normally, donated items not sold at area Goodwill Stores, are recycled, but before that happens items will be put up for sale at this Goodwill Outlet  store.

Dollars from store sales fund programs that assist community members in need. The programs assist individuals with

• Job training
• Job placement
• GED preparation
• Financial education

Goodwill says it's as easy as Shop, drop and roll!

The Goodwill outlet Store will be open Mon - Sat from 9 am - 6 pm. Closed on Sundays.
