Ever since the doors closed over 2 years ago for the Schnuck's location at Rural Street and North Prospect, neighbors have been fighting to bring a grocery store back to the area. Well, a full-time grocery store may not be a reality yet, but the next best thing is; a farmer's market!

Traci Grassmuck, owner of All Things resale shop on Rural St., has been hard at work getting all the necessary permits and vendors to open a new farmer's market in the parking lot of the former Schnuck's on Rural.

The good news is, plans are now set, and this new farmer's market will be opening on June 10, 2016 and running every week Thursday through Monday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through October.

Besides offering a variety of fresh produce from local farmers and vendors, Grassmuck tells WIFR the market will also feature food trucks and crafts for kids.

If you are interested in being a vendor, or would like to have your food truck be a part of this market, spots are still available! For more information, or to sign-up contact Traci Grassmuck at 779-221-1041, stop into All Things on Rural, or send a message to her store's Facebook page here.
