New Cherry Valley YMCA Coming This Spring

A family donation is speeding up the process of bringing a new YMCA to Rockford-area. The new branch is expected to open sooner than you might think.

According to WIFR, the Puri family has donated $2.5 million to bring a new YMCA to Cherry Valley. The new location will be at Perryville Road and Newburg Road, and is expected to open in Spring 2017.

The new YMCA will include a cardio room, weightlifting room, and basketball courts. The health facility will also include personal trainers, as available at other Rockford-area YMCAs.

The new YMCA will definitely benefit both Cherry Valley and southeast Rockford residents. Sunil Puri told WIFR they will work with anyone interested in becoming a member, no matter their income, by coming up with a payment plan that works best.
