Do you know someone in Illinois that needs birth control but has no insurance and can't afford it? There's an app for that.

Welcome to the future, where everything is available at the click of a button.

Earlier this month a San Francisco based company developed an app called Nurx, which will offer birth control to Illinois women that don't have insurance and can not afford it.

The app, Nurx, is a telemedicine startup based in San Francisco, California and launched in Illinois on February 7, 2017. The app is designed to help women get birth control without a prescription and without insurance. (WQAD)

Women can register and fill out a medical questionnaire, which will be reviewed by a licensed medical provider to determine eligibility.

We'll always try to prescribe you 3 months at a time for your convenience.

Getting medicine through an app seems sketchy, doesn't it? Maybe, but Nurx is HIPAA compliant.

We take your health and data security very seriously. Nurx is HIPAA compliant, and we encrypt every transaction and conversation you have with us.

How Nurx Works

  1. Select your brand, answer a few questions, enter your insurance and shipping info.
  2. A doctor in your state will review the request and write a prescription.
  3. Your prescription is delivered on-time and at no extra cost.
