National Retailers In Rockford Dropping Like Flies
Another big store in Rockford will soon be empty after the retailer announced Rockford will not stay open.
About a month ago we learned Gander Mountain would be bought by Camper World but not all stores would close, 70 would remain open nationwide. Rockford outdoors-men and woman sighed with relief, for about a month, because Rockford wasn't on the list. There was no "official list." Now there is.
Camping World has announced the stores that will remain open and Rockford did not make the list. The one thing we don't know is when this store will close for good but we do know if you've got a gift card it will be valid until May 18, nationwide. Hmm. Seems like Gander Mountain could be closing next week.
Don't panic yet campers, hunters, and gun enthusiasts. The store, located at Perryville & Olde Creek Roads, is liquidating it's merchandise. Gander Mountain's website says all 126 stores will "total liquidation savings", so if you're into anything outdoors this might be the time to get some new gear and toys.
