Toby Keith is set to headline opening night of Naperville's Ribfest on June 30, but some residents are upset saying he's "too political" and that some of his song lyrics are "inappropriate".

The Exchange Club of Naperville are the hosts of Naperville's Ribfest, and ever since they announced Toby Keith as a festival headliner last Friday, they have been fielding numerous complaints on social media from unhappy patrons. Naperville's Ribfest helps to raise money to help eliminate child abuse and domestic violence and a lot of people feel Toby Keith is the wrong performer choice for a fundraiser such as this due to some of his "vigilante" song lyrics and political preferences.

Yes, Toby Keith performed at Trump's inauguration. Yes, Toby has some strong political views, but he is a professional, and I hardly doubt he will be using his Naperville performance to state his political opinions.

What do you think? Do you see relevance in the public outcry? Here's just a few examples of the comments on the Naperville's Ribfest Facebook page...

So far, the Exchange Club of Naperville hasn't responded to the social media outcry, but is expected to release a statement soon. I wonder if they will choose a different opening night headliner?
