Miley Cyrus + Jimmy Fallon Disguise Themselves, Sing ‘Jolene’ in Subway Station
Miley Cyrus is always up for a good prank, and a group of New Yorkers waiting for the subway got just that from the pop star and popular late night host Jimmy Fallon.
In a stint for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Cyrus and the host dressed up in countrified disguises to perform her godmother Dolly Parton's hit "Jolene" inside Rockefeller Center's subway station for some unsuspecting pedestrians, and it turned into a pretty exciting moment.
Both rocking hilarious wigs and cowboy hats, Cyrus takes over on vocals while Fallon jams on tambourine as the two play "Jolene," drawing in a crowd who pull out their cell phones to capture the head-scratching scene. When the mysterious subway singers are revealed to be Cyrus and Fallon, the New Yorkers erupts in cheers and applause. Out of their wigs, the superstar and host treat fans to an acoustic performance of Cyrus' massive hit, "Party in the USA," with everyone singing along to every word.
Cyrus is getting ready to release her new 2017 album and has already offered fans a sample of what's to come. The album's lead single "Malibu" is all over the radio and currently rounds out the Top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. She's also released a track called "Inspired," written about her father and country star Billy Ray Cyrus.
“Never give in… Never Give Up… I’ll never forget his favorite saying, ‘A trying time is no time to quit trying,'" the "Wrecking Ball" singer says in an Instagram post about the inspiration behind the song.
"This is Miley leaning into her roots more than I've ever heard," Billy Ray tells Billboard about his daughter's new project. "For her, this is honest."
