With Flu season in full swing, this technology couldn't be better. Mercyhealth is changing the way you go to the doctor. They're allowing patients to have an in home visit via their smartphone.

With the new Mercyhealth app, patients don't even need to get out of bed to get a diagnosis and a prescription. WIFR details -

The Mercyhealth 'Virtual Visit Now App' allows doctors to talk face-to-face with patients who have clinical conditions, such colds, allergies, sore throats or ear pain. Doctors can use interactive technology to prescribe medications through the app.

The app is perfect for those who can't leave home, are working, or are just too busy to go to the doctor in person. Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Dorsey says -

There are the same type of outcomes for these conditions as there are literally sitting in the same room so it does not deliver an inferior product or less care. In fact, quite the opposite, it's a convenient care and an alternative.

I downloaded the app to see what it looked like. It was incredibly user friendly, you can sync your health info from your phone, and learn all about the doctors. Here are some screen shots I took -
