This Saturday you can take your old medications whether prescribed or over the counter to the Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful Medication Collection.

Many people think that flushing old outdated medications down the toilet or tossing them in their trash is ok to get rid of them, but we shouldn't do that as it pollutes our ground water and soil.

Instead bring those old medicines to the Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful collection for them to dispose of the drugs safely and properly.

They're accepting outdated over the counter drugs, prescribed medications, pet medications, inhalers and mercury thermometers.

The collection is set for this Saturday, June 13th at the three locations: Machesney Park, Belvidere, and South Beloit.
