Looking for a quick dessert idea?

Make this easy Cherry Brownie Dessert.

I made this for my Mom's birthday's this weekend. It's is quite similar to Black Forest Cake. However, it's a lot easier to make. In fact, I call it  the cheaters version to Black Forest Cake.

There are actually two recipes to make this.

One is a short cut to the original, which I made because I didn't have any cream cheese on hand. However, both are quiet tasty and a perfect way to jazz up that ordinary brownie mix in your cupboard.

The short cut is Cherry Brownie Dessert. Using only four ingredients: brownie mix, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla and cherry pie filling.

Directions:

Mix 1 brownie mix according to package directions. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Mix together: 1 can sweetened condensed milk 2 tsp. vanilla

Put on top of brownies and bake another 20 minutes or until firm. Cool. Then put 2 cans of cherry pie filling on top.

The other, Rhoda's Brownie Dessert, has a few more ingredients for the filling /middle layer.

1 pkg. brownie mix
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese softened
1 can cherry pie filling

Make brownies according to pkg. directions 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.Bake only 20 minutes.Beat vanilla, egg, milk and cream cheese until smooth. Pour over baked brownies and bake again until topping is set (about 20 minutes). Cool about 2 hours. Spread pie filling over top. Serve and enjoy. Refrigerate all leftovers.

This is quiet tasty and I received the Q Crew stamp of approval.
Next time I'll make the dessert with the cream cheese filling and compare the two. I'm sure it will be just as or even more so in the yummy factor.
