Remember the wine I had so much trouble with last Thursday? I decided instead of trying to pour around that stupid cork floating in it, just to go ahead and make Sangria.

If you find yourself in that situation or just with leftover wine, try this easy Sangria recipe.

I added a splash of tonic water to it and it made a refreshing fizzy drink.

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice, fresh
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup orange-flavored liqueur
  • 1 (750 ml) bottle Burgundy wine
  • 1/2 lemon, sliced
  • 1/2 orange, sliced
  • ice
    1. In a plastic container (with lid) combine sugar, lemon& orange juices, liqueur and wine; stir.
    2. Refrigerate for several hours.
    3. Pour into pitcher add lemon and orange slices.
    4. Serve over ice.
