Kris Grahnke of Loves Park has been battling Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS, for two years, and for the second year in a row he is currently in Washington D.C. trying to legislation passed for those battling ALS.

Nearly 1,000 people are expected to march in D.C. today hoping to speak to lawmakers about the importance of getting several bills passed that would make life easier for ALS sufferers.

Grahnke recently spoke to WTVO about how important it is to him to be the voice for those who can no longer speak for themselves:

Other guys who are about my age, early 30's, who were here last year talking to their congressmen and fighting for their rights have completely lost their ability to talk.  So, it's just all the more reason why I feel like I got to be here."

Kris has been keeping followers up to date with his travels on his Facebook page, and his message is quite inspiring!

Good luck in Washington, Kris! Go kick some ALS bootie!
