With Childhood obesity on the rise an organization in Loves Park was created a fitness program to help families get fit and lead healthier lives.

WREX reports the Faithful 2 Fitness was created by Dr. Katrina Nguyen and her husband, Dr. Marconi D. Deladisma,  when they relocated to Rockford, Illinois. Dr. Nguyen "established a non-profit organization to assist in the development of obesity intervention programs across America.   On November 6, 2014, Faithful-2-Fitness, NFP was born.  She launched the Rockford Childhood Obesity Intervention Program on April 18, 2015.  Faithful-2-Fitness became a registered trademark on April 26, 2016."

Dr. Nguyen realized that in order to keep kids healthy you need to get the whole family involved in a healthier lifestyle and activity that's fun. She's found that families become closer as they workout and exercise together with this program.

Currently, over 80 families have gone through the Faithful 2 Fitness program, since it began in April of 2015. To be enrolled into the program, families must be recommended by a doctor.

Honestly, I think this is a great idea. We all know how hard it is to lose weight and stay in shape on our own, it's always better when you have someone to workout with and be accountable with. This way the family all relies on each other to workout, get healthy and encourage one another as we should as a family.

Also, it takes the stigma of being fat away from the child. Making them feel bad about themselves and their body.  It doesn't single them out when the whole family is doing this together to be healthy.
