Local Vietnam Veteran to be Honored in D.C.

A local Vietnam Veteran will be honored in Washington D.C.

David Jones of Loves Park along with other Illinois veterans will be inducted into the "In Memory Honor Roll" for 2015 by the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Fund on June 20th.

The "In Memory" honors those who died as a result of the Vietnam War, but whose deaths do not fit the Department of Defense criteria for inclusion upon the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C.

David Jones served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1971.  He also served in Germany, Vietnam, and Fort Campbell as a drill instructor.

To David Jones and his family, I want to express my sincere thanks and gratitude for his service to our country.
