If your kids have been begging you to take them to Lego Land in Chicago, here's some good news. Just put them off for a couple of weeks, and then you'll be able to take them somewhere a whole lot closer to home to fulfill that LEGO fix.

Starting May 21, Rockford Park District's Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens will be hosting a LEGO exhibit through June 21, 2015. This exhibit will feature colorful LEGO bricks and sculptures set among tropical plants, building contests, elaborate displays by local LEGO clubs, and much more!

Kids and adults alike will love seeing the LEGO model of the Conservatory plus beautiful over-sized LEGO flowers, butterflies, and birds.

Each weekend will feature a different make-it, take-it craft activity for kids that are included with museum admission, plus other LEGO related classes, programs and activities. For a complete list of all the coming LEGO happenings at the Conservatory go here.

Also, don't forget you only have days left to check out "Simply Spring: The Butterfly Exhibit" at Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens! It closes on May 17, so take the kids today before it flutters away! They're open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Have fun!
