Lee Brice is nominated for Song of the Year at the 2014 CMA Awards for his latest, 'I Don't Dance,' which he talked about when he dropped in with Taste of Country to talk about the upcoming awards show.

Brice's recording of 'I Drive Your Truck' won the award in 2013, but the singer didn't have a hand in writing the song, which was split between Jessi Alexander, Connie Harrington and Jimmy Yeary.

"I was honored to be on 'I Drive Your Truck,' but I think that's the songwriters' award," Brice tells us, "which makes 'I Don't Dance' that much more special to me, because I was a writer on it."

Brice is up against some tough competition, including Miranda Lambert's 'Automatic,' Kacey Musgraves' 'Follow Your Arrow,' Eric Church's 'Give Me Back My Hometown' and 'I Hold On' by Dierks Bentley.

"When I looked at all the songs in the category this year, it's like, they're all really, really great. There ain't a dud anywhere," he observes. "So it really is an honor just to be in the category, because all of the songs are that great. So for a song that I wrote to be standing up next to those songs, it really is an honor."

The 2014 CMA Awards will air live from Nashville via ABC at 8PM ET on Wednesday night (Nov. 5), hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.
