If you've never been inside Byron Nuclear Generating Station there will be an opportunity to learn how it works next week.

Families have a chance to learn how the power plant operates and is able to provide electricity for 2 million people, as well as see how the plant is maintained, meet and talk to engineers, learn radiological safety, how the plant is prepared for emergencies, and more. The best part is the cost of admission - it's FREE.

There will not be tours inside the plant itself (for safety reasons) but everyone will have the opportunity to tour the plant's control room simulator which is used for training purposes. The event is Monday (August 28) from 4-7 PM with light refreshments and giveaways. They only ask that you register before the event so they can have an idea of how many guests will arrive

Remember, it's free.
