Kids love to play outdoors in the summer. Which is good, but could also be bad if they are exposed to the sun too long.

Here are some helpful hints to keep your kids safe in the sun this summer:

1.  Choose a time that the sun is not the strongest.

Have your children play in the early morning hours or late in the evening. The sun is strongest from 10 AM till 4 PM.

2. Always wear sunglasses.

Not only are sunglasses a cool accessory, they are also a useful tool to keep your eyes protected from UV rays. Make sure to select the type that will give your kids the best protection.

3. Wear a hat.

A hat will protect your skin by up to thirty percent. Ball caps are good, but they will not protect the neck and ears from the sun. The bigger the hat, the better the protection.

4. Suncreen.
