Not only did Sheri Holcomb walk away with winnings, but her time on the show also gave her a new outlook on teaching.

Rock County Christian School (Janesville) teacher Sheri Holcomb was a contestant on Wheel Of Fortune on an episode that aired Monday. On the episode, Sheri won cash and a trip to Costa Rica, totally $16,000 in winnings. However, she came back home with something invaluable, a new outlook on understanding the students she teaches.

In an interview with NBC15 (Madison), Sheri explained the lesson she learned after being nervous during the filming of the show.

"There's a big buzz word in education with 'trauma' and how students who are under traumatic situations can't learn and I really found out how just being nervous effected my ability to learn so that really effects my teaching now," Sheri said.
