Janesville Mall Announces It Will Be Closed Again For Holiday
Don't worry about 'Black Friday' shopping at area malls Thanksgiving night because they won't be open. For the second year in-a-row Cherryvale Mall and Janesville Mall will be closed on Thanksgiving day.
In a statement by Janesville Mall owners, CBL Properties,
“The support that we received last year when we made this decision was overwhelmingly positive,” said Stephen Lebovitz, President and CEO, CBL Properties, “It is based on this feedback from our retail partners, employees of CBL and retailers at our properties, as well as the customers in our markets that we made the decision to again close our centers on Thanksgiving Day.”
This will cut costs on standard daily operations and help smaller businesses with smaller staffs, according to manager Julie Cubbage,
"Managers of some smaller stores in the Janesville Mall “high fived” over the planned Thanksgiving closure, in part because some have found it difficult to staff their stores for a Black Friday shopping crush that has continued to start earlier and spill into the family holiday.
Mall officials said Boston Store, Dick's Sporting Goods, Kohl's, Sears, and Ulta will likely be open on Thanksgiving. The mall will reopen at 6 AM on Black Friday, November 24th.
