Well, this year it seems that the Illinois State Police will be cracking down on motorists on the highway according to WCIA.com. One of the laws they will be a little stricter on enforcing is tailgating. The rule of thumb is to allow 3-to-5 second distance between you and the car in front of you. Tailgating can cause major road rage in people and that's no good for anyone and it just doesn't leave you enough time to stop in case of an emergency.

Another law they will be focusing on is improper lane use. For instance, it is illegal to drive in the left lane unless you are directly passing someone. There's always that one car that blocks traffic from passing that demands to stay in the left lane no matter what. Well, that's definitely coming to an end. This year if they catch you riding in that lane you will get a ticket and if you ask me it's a well-deserved ticket.

Not only will they be enforcing these laws, but officers will be in covert vehicles in traffic and when they see you break these laws they will radio the squad car ahead so they can pull you over when you get closer to them. State Police warn you this year to be watching out because you will not be able to recognize them until its too late.
