If you live in Illinois, be very careful when you answer that phone, it could be scam!

Attorney General Lisa Madigan has issued a warning to all residents of Illinois. There have been reports from many individuals of receiving calls from telephone scammers who pose as representatives from Microsoft or other technology companies.

The scammer tells the person who answers the phone that they've detected "virus or malware" on the person's computer. They then try to trick them into providing remote computer access or to pay for unneeded software fixes.

If you get a call like this you should hang up right away!. She says never give out your password or provide credit card or financial information to someone who calls you.
