Thanksgiving is a little over a week away, and I'll be honest, I was craving turkey, green beans and cranberry sauce the second the Halloween candy hit the clearance aisle.

I know I'm not alone in this. We love to love that one day a year when it's totally acceptable to over indulge in all the things we pretend are bad for us the other 364 days out of the year...hello, carbs.

While we're on the topic of carbs, they just happen to be Illinois' favorite Thanksgiving sidedish; specifically, mashed potatoes. Amen.

According to Thrillist, General Mills released a map that shows the most popular Thanksgiving side dishes in every state; and those creamy, buttery, savory spuds just happen to be Illinois' most popular Turkey Day tradition.
