Well, this is disturbing news. A new study shows Illinois is filled with psychopaths.

While we rank close to the top of the list, Illinois isn't quite the "Most Psychopathic" in the U.S.

Strangely, it's a small east coast state, Connecticut, according to a study by professor Ryan Murphy at Southern Methodist University.

California, New Jersey, New York and Wyoming rounded out the top 5 "Most Psychopathic."

MSN says "To find these results, researchers relied on previous surveys that established the levels of the big five personality traits (extroversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness to experience) in each state."

Illinois landed in the 9th spot when it comes to psychopathic-ness, but it needs to be mentioned, Wisconsin ranked 7th in the country.

In case you're wondering, the least psychopathic state in the U.S. is West Virginia.
