Residents of Aurora, Illinois spent their Independence Day honoring the 25th Anniversary of Wayne's World  with a record-breaking headbanging session so great you gotta see it to believe it.

The City of Aurora said 1,000 people gathered at RiverEdge Park Tuesday night to headbang along to Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" wearing their best black t-shirts, flannels, bandannas and wigs to honor the anniversary of the movie their fair city is known for.

Thanks to Wayne and Garth, it's impossible to hear this part of "Bohemian Rhapsody" without headbanging along with them.  Wish I would have known they were doing this so I could have been a part of it too...looks so fun!

Organizers of this event in Aurora say many volunteers were monitoring the stunt to ensure that all 1,000 participators were headbanging in unison to comply with Guinness' rules. The record-breaking attempt has been officially submitted to Guinness, and the city is now waiting for the official certification.

Party on, Aurora! You done real good.

Here's a closer look at the headbanging awesomeness. You think they were all in unison?
